New Airfield in Panama's South

With a $1 million investment, an airfield will be constructed in the town of Puerto Obaldía, in Colombian border.

The $970.732 were obtained through a budget modification approved by the Budget Committee of the Legislative Assembly.

"Likewise, the Committee authorized the relocation of $1.5 million for ... the construction ... of the main field... of the Technological University of Panama", reported Pa-digital.com.pa.

Panama: Investments in Regional Airports

Tocumen is preparing a plan to tender several expansion works and equipment at the airfields of Panama Pacific, David, Colon and Rio Hato.

One of the regional airports where Tocumen plans to invest in order to improve its functionality is Panama Pacific, which is projected to double capacity of the terminal in order to handle five flights simultaneously instead of two, increasing the number of airline counters from 3 to 7 and improving the waiting area for departing passengers and the migration area.

Guatemala: Airfield in Retalhuleu Now Operating

In a first stage, the aerodrome will receive domestic flights in order to revive tourism in the area.

Later the airfield will be adapted to receive international flights, as part of the plan drawn up by the Guatemágica Tourist Circuit Council, which aims to increase tourist arrivals to Retalhuleu and surrounding areas.
