New $70 Million Hospital in Panama
A new $70 million regional hospital will be built in 2011 in the village of Los Santos.

For the remainder of this year, the Health Ministry will conduct studies and draft the blueprints of the new Hospital, whose construction is scheduled to begin in 2011.
It is estimated that construction of the new facilities will take three years, meaning that the current hospital will remain operational.
Up to $20 million is thought to be necessary to improve infrastructure, medicine stocks and equipment in order to save the Nicolás A. Solano hospital in southern Panama.
Franklin Vergara, Panamanian Health minister, announced the construction of a $70 million hospital in Colon.
The Costa Rican Social Security Office (CCSS) will build a 6-floor tower of 17,500 square meters for the Hospital Calderón Guardia.
