More Competition for Bananas in Europe

The signing of the Multiparty Trade Agreement between Ecuador and the European Union will allow the South American country to export bananas with better tariffs.

From a statement issued by the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promotion Office (Procomer):

Ecuador's banana industry is optimistic about the Multiparty Trade Agreement reached on 17 July this year between the country and the European Union, which will improve the tariff conditions.

According to Francisco Rivadeneira, foreign trade minister of Ecuador, four years negotiating with the European Union will enhance opportunities, reduce costs, respect the country's development model and allow for the protection of sensitive sectors.
