More Companies Registered in Guatemala

In the first four months of the year 18,000 new businesses were registered with the Commercial Register , 13% more than in the same period in 2014.

The number of new companies entered into the Mercantile Registry between January and April this year exceeds that of the same period in 2014, when 16,389 were registered.

Eleconomista.net reports that "... The Presidential Commissioner for Competitiveness and Investment in Guatemala, Juan Carlos Paiz, explained that the main growth was in the registration of commercial companies, an increase of 31% in the category, according to the Guatemalan state news agency. "

From January to April 2015 2,785 new companies were registered in the Registry of Honduras , 47% more than recorded in the previous year.

The increase has been attributed to the new electronic billing system implemented by the Executive Department of Revenue (DEI), according to representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tegucigalpa (CCIT).

The number of companies and sole traders registered in the Commercial Registry in January grew by 46% compared to the same month in 2014, a year in which a decrease of 3% was recorded.

In January 2015 2.289 companies were registered, 720 more than the 1,569 reported in the same month of 2014.
