Microsoft certifies Intecap in Guatemala

The Technical Training and Productivity Institute (Intecap) became the first institution to be certified by Microsoft in Guatemala yesterday.

Cesar Guillermo Castillo, manager of the institution, explained that the certification allows them to train more Guatemalans in Windows 2007 and Office programs - Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.

With the endorsement of the Institute for Training, Environmental Research and Development (CIDEA by its initials in Spanish), the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will award companies with a certificate of good aquaculture practice.

Certification For Use of Costa Rica's Country Brand Image

The Administrative Committee of the brand "Essential Costa Rica" will authorize its use according to the recommendations of trained analysts at the Institute of Technical Standards.

The Institute of Technical Standards of Costa Rica (Inteco) will be the body which will train staff who will be able to use the national brand of Costa Rica.

Costa Rica Eases SME Certification

Authorities have opened regional offices, called “Creapymes”, which certify companies as Small and Medium Enterprises (SME).

Previously, the procedure could only be completed at the central offices of the Economy, Industry and Commerce Ministry, in the capital city of San José.
