Maintenance of Green Zones Awarded for $15.3 million

The cost proposed by the winning company is the highest of all the bids, and exceeds the reference price by $900,000.

The company Áreas Verdes Tocumen was awarded the contract for maintenance of the international airport for $15.3 million, more than the $14.4 million that had been set as a reference.

"After nine months and multiple complaints, Tocumen SA selected the highest bidder to award the maintenance contract for green areas and drainage at the airport", reported Prensa.com.

Companies like Coinco y Trébol Services complained that their proposals had been wrongly classified by the evaluation committee appointed by the administration of the airport.

Among the companies who participated in the auction were: Coinco ($13.8 million), Panama Waste Management ($13.9 million), Trébol Services ($13.9 million), and Áreas Verdes Tocumen ($ 15.3 million).
