Tender for Passenger Transportation Service

The Autonomous Executive Port Commission in El Salvador is putting out to tender, for the year 2018, transport services for staff at the Port of Acajutla and the airports of Comalapa and Ilopango.

Government Purchase El Salvador DR-CAFTA-ADACA-UE CEPA-LA-03/2018:

"The purpose is to hire transportation services for the staff of the Port of Acajutla and the International Airports of El Salvador, Monsignor Óscar Arnulfo Romero Y Galdámez and Ilopango, for the year 2018.

Requirements are for staff transportation on the following routes:
a) Operating hours - Metropolitan Area of San Salvador towards AIES-MOARG and vice versa (including Domestic Routes)
b) Administrative hours - Metropolitan Area of San Salvador towards AIES-MOARG and vice versa
c) Zones Near the Airport towards AIES-MOARG and vice versa
d) International Airport of Ilopango to different municipalities of the Metropolitan Area of San Salvador.
e) From the Port of Acajutla to the city of Sonsonate and vice versa
f) From the Port of Acajutla to the city of Acajutla and vice versa. "

The deadline for receipt of bids is October 27, 2017.

Another Attempt to Build a Metro

November 2018

In Guatemala, it is proposed to develop an underground metro that would connect in its initial phase the municipality of Mixco with Zone 15 of the capital and would require a $700 million investment.

The new project proposed is in addition to the several proposals and attempts that have been made to implement a mass transportation system in the metropolitan area of Guatemala, which resolves at once the serious problem of road congestion affecting the capital. Thus, in addition to the Metro Riel project and the urban cable cars between Mixco, Villa Nueva and the capital, a new initiative has now been added to build an underground train.

In Panama, the Tocumen Airport tenders the transportation service for the regional air terminal workers.

Panama Government Purchase 2018-2-02-0-99-LV-008052:

" They include the provision of the service with a minimum of eight (8) buses, divided as follows:

- Two (2) buses of thirty (30) passengers and one (1) bus of fifteen (15) passengers for the Panama Pacifico Airport at Howard.

Freight Law in El Salvador

El Salvador's Congress could pass a law on road freight transport, regulating permits, routes, itineraries, parking, weight and dimensions of vehicles.

The current draft, soon to be approved by the Public Works Commission, does not include mandatory insurance requirements for third parties.
