Tender for Liquefied Petroleum Gas Storage

The Costa Rican Petroleum Refinery (RECOPE) is putting out to tender the construction of four areas for storing liquefied petroleum gas.

A press release from RECOPE reads:

On July 4 [2011] The Public Tender 2011LN 000009-02 "Recruitment of engineering services, labor, procurement of materials, equipment and tools for the design, construction, technology transfer, training, testing and commissioning of four Refinery areas” was published in La Gaceta No. 128.

The development of this contract will complete the project known as System and Storage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (SAGAS), for which contracts have been awarded for the procurement of a sphere and six horizontal cylindrical vessels, both contracts are in the implantation phase.

The work to be developed in this new contract are four areas for storing propane with an individual capacity of 4000m3 (25,000 barrels), the piping and pumping systems for the process of importation, storage, transfer, sales and fire protection and as interconnection with existing systems and construction. Receipt of tenders is 16 September 2011 and the project implementation period is estimated at three years.

Upon completion of these facilities and the ones that have already been contracted storage capacity will be increased to 24,500 m3. (154,000 barrels) from the current 65,000 barrels.

Fuel Tank Construction Tender

At an estimated cost of $16.3 million the Costa Rican Oil Refinery is putting out to tender the construction of tanks for storing bunker fuel and asphalt.

Included in the works are:

For the asphalt storage tanks:
-Dismantling of a 1590 cubic meter (10,000 barrels) tank and two tanks measuring 200 cubic meters (1,258 barrels) and associated piping, and transfer of materials to the collection center.

Works to Store Liquefied Petroleum Gas Awarded

The Costa Rican Oil Refinery company (Recope) has awarded the construction of four areas to store LPG and related works to the Spanish company Felguera IHI.

A press release by Recope states that:

“The company IHI Felguera SA (Spanish) will be responsible for building the four areas and their related works, on the project called System and Storage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (SAGAS in Spanish) after having been awarded the works.

Four Bids for Liquefied Petroleum Gas Storage

December 2011

The Costa Rican Oil Refinery has received four bids for the tender for the project "System and Storage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (SAGAS)."

Bids were opened on November 8, 2011for the public procurement tender number 2011LN-000009-02 for the four areas and related works on the project entitled ‘System Storage and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (SAGAS)’ where offers were presented by four companies from which the most suitable will be selected by the Costa Rican Oil Refinery (RECOPE SA)

Costa Rica: LPG Storage Contract Awarded to Felguera

January 2011

The State refiner awarded the Felguera group the construction of the new infrastructure for storing liquefied gas.

I.H.S.A. Felguera Spain won the tender and will be responsible for the design, purchase of materials and construction of six storage facilities of 250 m3 each.
