Tender for $8 Million in Weapons

The Ministry of Public Security of Costa Rica tenders the supply of 9 mm guns, under the mode of delivery on demand.

Costa Rica Government Purchase 2019LN-000007-0007100001:

"The General Directorate of the Public Force requires to hire a company that supplies 9mm guns, under the modality of execution according to demand, so that a specific amount of the good will not be awarded, but rather unit prices will be awarded, which will be required by the Administration in the execution phase as the need emerges.

The guns must be semi-automatic, 9 mm x 19mm gauge, frame in non-ferrous material. Not less than 15 shots long between 18 and 22 cm, barrel between 10.2 and 12.7 cm three-point metal sights, percussion mechanism, exposed hammer or needle thrown."

Reference value: $7,737,634.

Deadline for receipt of bids: January 21, 2020.

Guatemala Seeks to Standardize Weapons

June 2012

The Ministry of Interior has initiated a plan for renewal of its weapons and will soon launch a tender for eight thousand 9mm pistols.

Mauricio Lopez, Interior Minister said that this is the first step in the process of renewing arms for the National Civil Police, adding that it is considering more specific weapons for special forces, such as rifles or submachine guns.
