Less Paperwork to Start a Business in El Salvador

The Government of El Salvador has announced an initiative called "MiEmpresa.gob.sv" which from next May will reduced from five to one the number of forms required for filing and commencement of operations of a company.

A press release from the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador reads:

As part of efforts being made in the country to improve the business climate, the Government of El Salvador announced today an initiative called "MiEmpresa.gob.sv" which from next May will reduce the number of forms required for filing and commencement of operations of a company from five to only one. This is the result of joint work carried out by 8 institutions of government and some local governments.

The announcement was made by Armando Flores, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, accompanied by Mauricio Guardado, Deputy Minister of Revenue of the Ministry of Finance, Oscar Morales, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Argumedo Henry, Executive Director of the National Registry as well as of representatives of the Technical Secretariat of the Presidency, National Commission for Micro and Small Enterprises, Innovation Management and Informatics at the Presidency and the Municipality of San Salvador.

The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry reported that with the launch of this initiative, MSE’s can perform simplified business procedures online business, and learn about programs and support services promoted by the government and the private sector for micro and small companies.
