Less Red Tape for Mobile Phone Infrastructure in Costa Rica

The new regulation looks to simplify the procedures required to install telecommunications infrastructure.

The new regulation, published on September 8th, lists in only 20 articles the competences of the public organizations involved in the process.

One study by the Telecommunications Ministry determined that in order to install a telecommunications' tower, a company had to consult at least three Laws and attend to five different organizations.

In the new procedure " ... different types of infrastructure are defined and the various procedures in different organizations are well defined too", reported Elfinancierocr.com.
