Joseph Biden in Costa Rica on March 29

The vice president of the United States is preparing an official visit to Costa Rica for March 29 and 30.

The visit would be a continuation of the official's participation in a meeting of leaders in Chile, scheduled for March 27 and 28.

This would be the first official visit to Latin America by an official from the Obama administration.

Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva will be on tour in the three Central American countries between June 1 and 3.

The Brazilian president will be in El Salvador on the first of June for the presidential inauguration of Mauricio Funes.

An article in Laprensagrafica.com reported that "the Brazilian president will participate in all official ceremonies and even share a lunch with the other leaders."

Meeting Bewteen Obama and Region Presidents

President Obama will have a meeting exclusively with Central American leaders in Trinidad and Tobago on April 19.

The meeting between the presidents will be held immediately after the Summit of the Americas, according to a press release by the First Lady of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, in an article published in Ticotimes.net.

The vice president of the United States will meet with isthmus leaders during his visit to Costa Rica on March 29 and 30.

The Costa Rican president, Oscar Arias, summoned his counterparts from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. He announced that he will also invite the prime minister of Belize and the winner of next Sunday’s presidential elections in El Salvador.

Uruguayan Companies Look to do Business in Costa Rica

A well-rounded group of Uruguayan businessmen interested in buying and selling various products and services will participate in a business meeting.

The rounds of negotiations will take place next April 23 and 24 at the Real Intercontinental Hotel in San Jose. They were organized by Procomer and the Uruguayan Embassy, and they are supported by Costa Rican business associations.
