Agricultural Projects: $26 Million Investment

In the first nine months of 2018, 21 environmental impact studies were presented in Central America to adapt land for cultivation and processing of agricultural products.

The interactive platform "Construction in Central America", compiled by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData, includes an up to date list of public and private construction projects for which environmental impact studies (EIA) were submitted to the respective institutions of each country.

Costa Rica is the country in the region with the largest investment, with approximately $22 million in agricultural projects, corresponding to 15 environmental impact studies submitted to Setena between January and September 2018.

It is followed by Panama, where four EIAs were presented, which together represent an investment of approximately $3 million. Among the studies presented are land improvement works and construction of irrigation systems.

In Guatemala, a study was presented to execute a project consisting of the construction of greenhouses to produce flowers, for which it is planned to invest close to one million dollars.

CentralAmericaData has information on the construction projects to be developed in Central America, with details such as estimated investment, times and phases of the project, supplies and equipment that will be required during and after construction, water treatment, and parking structure, among other things.
