Now, there is a possibility that the agreement the region seeks to sign with the European country will not be consolidated, since it is not yet clear how the process of Britain's exit from the European Union will be carried out, an issue that is generating great tension between the British Parliament and Prime Minister, Theresa May, at this very moment.

Julio Dougherty, Deputy Minister of Integration and Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economy of Guatemala, told Elperiodico.com.gt that "... All week we will be in meeting with the technical teams, led by myself, the best negotiation will be made in favor of Guatemala, trying not to affect any of the sectors, but thinking that the priority is the development of our country."

On the other hand, the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador reported that "... In the coming weeks, a technical team from Central America will travel to the United Kingdom to begin negotiations to create a trade agreement with the European country."

Luz Estrella Rodríguez, Minister of Economy, said to Elmundo.sv that "... El Salvador will be part of this technical team that will prepare a document to maintain the preferential status of some products that are exported to the United Kingdom, through the Association Agreement between the European Union and Central America (AA)."
