Inflation in Honduras reaches 10.2%

In September inflation grew by 0.1% and reached accumulated to 10.2% this year in Honduras.

A report from the Central Bank of Honduras (BCH) on the Consumer Price Index (PCI) also showed that the inter-annual inflation was at 13.7% in September.
Accumulated inflation in 2007 in Honduras was at 6.9% and the inter-annual inflation was 8.9%, according to the BCH.

Honduras: 4.4% year-on-year inflation Up to September 2018

The consumer price index registered a slight monthly variation of 0.03%, due to the increase in the prices of housing rent and some personal care items.

From the Central Bank of Honduras Report:

In September 2018, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed a monthly variation of 0.03%, due to the increase observed in the price of housing rents, some personal care items, food consumed in restaurants, furniture and household appliances, which was almost compensated by the negative variation reflected in the national average prices of some agricultural perishable foods. As a result, the accumulated inflation up to September 2018 was 2.90%, lower than the same period of 2017 (3.24%), while the inter-annual inflation was 4.38% (3.66% twelve months ago), remaining within the tolerance range of 4.0% ± 1.0 percentage points, set in the revision of the 2018-2019 Monetary Program.

In October, the consumer price index registered a monthly variation of 0.29%, and almost 4% in year-on-year terms.

The monthly variation of the Consumer Price Index in October 2017 was 0.29%, mainly explained by an increase in the prices of: some foods of agricultural origin (red beans, corn and onions), rental services, housing maintenance and fuels in the domestic market. This caused inter-annual inflation to be 3.97% (2.82% in October 2016) and accumulated inflation 3.55% (2.90% in the same month in the previous year).

Nicaragua’s Inter-annual Inflation 8.81%

The inter-annual inflation rate is 1.59% higher than February 2011.

The Central Bank of Nicaragua announced that the accumulated inflation rate in the first two months of the year amounted to 1.36% and inter-annual inflation stood at 8.81%, 1.59 percentage points higher than in February 2011.

Inflation Reaches 5.4% in Honduras

In November 2011, the rate of change in the Consumer Price Index continued downwards, settling at 5.4%.

According to information from the Central Bank of Honduras:

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for November 2011 showed a variation of 0.4% (0.8% in the same month of 2010) which led biannual and cumulative inflation to stand at 5.4% each, and the average of 12 months at 6.8%.
