Inflation in Honduras Increases by 5.3%

In September 2012 the CPI reached a monthly variation of 0.7%. The annual inflation rate was 5.3% and the accumulated rate in the year was 4.6%.

A statement of the Central Bank of Honduras reads:

In September 2012, the Consumer Price Index recorded a monthly rise of 0.7%

In September 2012, the price level, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), reached a monthly variation of 0.7%. The annual inflation rate was 5.3% and the rate accumulated in the year was 4.6%.

The items with the largest contribution to inflation for the month were: "Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels" with 0.23% due to price increases in the following goods and services: rent, kerosene and LPG, followed by the electricity supply in housing, among others, "Transport" with 0.21%, due primarily to the rise in the price of diesel and regular gasoline and super gasoline, the contribution for the category "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" was 0.17%, a result of -mainly- the increase in pricesof: chicken meat, unpasteurized milk, chicken eggs, classified rice, cream butter, cheese, cornmeal, chayote, beef and beef liver and shelled corn, among other items.

Dominican Republic: 3% YoY Inflation up to September 2018

In September, spending divisions that reported price increases included Transportation, Housing and Education.

The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic reported that the consumer price index (CPI) in September 2018 registered a variation of 0.08 % with respect to August, the accumulated inflation for the January-September 2018 period reached 1.52 %, while annualized inflation, measured from September 2017 to September 2018, was 3.29 %.

The consumer price index recorded a monthly variation of 0.22%, due to an increase in the prices of transport and furniture and household items.

Honduras Records 3.1% Inflation in First Semester

In June, there was an increase of 0.4%, driven mainly by soft drinks.

A report on the consumer price index has been released by the Central Bank of Honduras (BCH):

In June 2013, the rates of the monthly and interannual variations of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) were 0.4% and 5.3%, respectively, for its part, average inflation for the year reached 5.2 % and the cumulative rate stood at 3.1%.

Inflation in Panama reaches 10%

The Consumer Price Index (IPC), published yesterday by the Office of the Comptroller, revealed an increase of 10% in September.

This increase is mainly due to the increase in food and transportation, which, between September 2007 and September 2008, went up to 15.4% and 12.4% respectively.
