The master plan includes several zones for the commercial and services sector of the park, industrial building, mini warehouses, customer parking lots and areas for storing containers.
"This zone very attractive for the establishment of this type of infrastructure because of its proximity to the Juan Santamaria International Airport and access and connections it provides," Ileana Atan, General Manager of the firm that is in charge of the project.

Costa Rica is considering adopting the Chinese model of development of Special Economic Zones in order to promote the country as a high-tech industrial center.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica reads:
On the second day of their visit to China, the Costa Rican delegation accompanying the President of the Republic, Laura Chinchilla Miranda, visited the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) located in the town of that name, with the aim of learning from this successful model, and adapting it to the reality of the Costa Rican environment.
Urban growth in the east of the Costa Rican capital is underpinned by investment proposals in the Special Economic Zone of Cartago.
The achievements of investment attraction in the province include the opening in November of Paseo Metropolis and the opening of the first phase of Oficentro Terra Campus Corporativo, said Silvia Hidalgo, Director of the Center for University-Industry Links at the Tecnológico de Costa Rica College.
