Inditex expands in Guatemala

The Spanish chain Inditex expanded its textile empire to the Oakland Mall where on Thursday it inaugurated its new Stradivarius and Massimo Dutti formats.

Alejandro Azurdia, Stradivarious manager, explained that the Inditex group stores are geared towards particular tastes and life styles: "Pull and Bear is for urban youth, Bershka is for fashion youth, Zara has a wider appeal. Massimo Dutti is very expensive and exclusive, and Stradivarious is for women between 25 and 30 years who like glamor and are compulsive buyers.

Chain Stores Plan Expansion in Costa Rica

The Salvadoran Siman Group, a conglomerate that operates franchises for Zara, Zara Home and Massimo Dutti and the department stores Aliss, Yamuni, Carrion and Ekono has announced expansion plans.

In 2013 the Siman Group will open a new 10,000 square meter store in the new stage of Multiplaza del Este Mall which will generate 250 jobs.

Chain Store Invests $ 8 Million in Guatemala

As part of its expansion plan, Cemaco will open three new stores in 2011.

On March 18 it will open a new store at the Mall Flores del Lago.

Maria Fernanda Jaramillo, executive vice president of the company, told Prensa Libre that "an express format will be created by the middle of this year at the Avenida de las Américas, in area 13.... The expansion plan also includes opening a store on route to the Atlantic...".

New Brands Come to Costa Rica

At least twelve international clothing brands have announce the opening of stores in the country.

ETA Fashion, an Ecuadorian chain of department stores, Express, a north American brand of clothing and accessories for men and women, the Spanish franchise selling children's clothing Gocco, the Brazilian store Hering and the brand of Colombian menswear Arturo Calle, are some of new brands entering the Costa Rican market.

Siman Stores expand in Guatemala

November 2008

As a part of its expansion and growth strategy for Central America, the Siman chain of stores opens a new store employing 300 people.

Despite the international economic crisis, the chain of department stores continues its expansion and growth and added the new Siman Oakland store to bring the total number of stores in Central to 10, with 6 in El Salvador, 3 in Guatemala and 1 in Nicaragua.
