Enrique Zamora, President of the Association of Producers and Exporters of Nicaragua (APEN), confirmed that 35-40% of the growth is due to improved prices for their products in the international market, and 15% due to the increase in volume.
The export sector in 2013 estimated sales of $ 3 billion, a growth of 10 to 12% compared to 2012.
The Export and Investment Center (CEI) expects that the country's exports at the end of the current year will reach a total value of $1.5 billion.
In 2011, Nicaragua increased its exports of textiles to over $1.35 billion, 33% more than in 2010.
In the first seven months of the year, exports showed a significant increase in volume (14.9%) and value (13.3%), compared to the same period in 2011.
