Hospital Metropolitano Expands in Costa Rica

The medical facility will open, during the first half of 2011, two new offices in Tibás and Heredia.

Hospital authorities reported that only in medical equipment they have invested $ 1 million, and that the opening of the center in Heredia is planned for March.

"The medical center expansion will continue in 2011 - due to injection of capital made by Monte Cristo Group (owned by the Durman Esquivel family) when it acquired majority of the shares in September 2010," explained El Financiero.

Construction Started on New Hospital in Honduras

January 2012

With an investment of $36.6 million work has begun on the new Southern Regional hospital in Choluteca, Honduras.

The total project cost is $36.6 million, of which $33 million is being financed by the Export-Import Bank of Korea, while the national counterpart is $3.6 million.

New Hospital in Barillas, Huehuetenango

The Guatemala Ministry of Health and Welfare agreed to create a General Hospital in the Municipality of Barillas.

Published in the Official Journal, the ministerial decree 575-2011 establishes the creation of a hospital that will provide medical care to the population of the municipality and its environs.

El Salvador: Hospital Investments for $150 million

January 2015

The government has announced investments in medical equipment for the 30 existing hospitals and the construction of two in La Union and San Miguel, plus an ophthalmology center.

From a statement issued by the Government of El Salvador:

The Minister of Health, Violeta Menjivar, announced major health projects to be run by the government this year, among which is the inauguration of the National Hospital of La Union, whose total investment will be $16 million.

Panama: $100 Million for Children’s Hospital

May 2010

Health authorities are studying the design and construction of new infrastructure at the Children’s Hospital.

Alberto Bissot, new director of the health complex, explained that the new facility will be built in the same lot as the hospital.

“The preliminary plan comprises using the parking area and remodeling some other spaces to build the new structure, which would house maintenance departments, warehouse and patient support units”, reported Bissot.
