Hospira Invests $ 21 Million in Costa Rica

The medical device maker made the investment by expanding its manufacturing plant.

The expansion of the plant in Global Park, Heredia, is expected to generate 250 new jobs.

The additional 11.000 Square Meters Hospira is adding to the 40,000 it already has, makes the building the center for making the infusion intravenous drug bomb.

"Hospira opened its first plant in Costa Rica in 1999. Back then, the company was engaged in high volume operations such as injection molding, sub-assemblies, and intravenous equipment, and had 300 employees as well as a 25000 square meters building,” publishes Nacion.com.

Navtar, a division of the corporation Tekni-Plex, Inc., is to locate the new plant in Zone Z in Cartago, the space will measure 1000 square meters, with the possibility of expanding its size to 3,700 square meters next year.
