Hondutel With New Program for Internet Access

Jorge Aguilar, Hondutel Manager, explained that the cost of the service equals that of a telephone call.
The state run telecommunications company has announced it will be investing $100 million in internet infrastructure to offer broadband and fiber optics services.
From 2009 to date, the local market has grown by 37% to around $700 and $800 million per year, distributed between Claro, Movistar and Yota.
A legal reform establishes imposing a single municipal tax of 1.5% for mobile, fixed line, internet and cable television operators,.
The company Honduran Communications is suffering from the shackles that come with being a state run company when competing in an aggressive telecommunications market.
