Honduras: $ 34.2 Million for Health Services

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) approved the loans to help expand coverage and quality of health services in Honduras.

A Loan for $27.5 million will expand the scope and quality of maternal care and will support decentralization of health management.

The funds will strengthen decentralization of health management, particularly in Departments of La Paz, Intibucá, Copán, Lempira, Gracias a Dios, Olancho, Ocotepeque, Santa Barbara and Cortes as well as strengthen the leadership role of the Ministry of Health.

With the IDB loan approved by the National Assembly infrastructure and equipment for health centers in rural areas will be improved.

From a statement issued by from the National Assembly:

The Plenum of the National Assembly approved on Tuesday September 6, a Loan Agreement signed with the Interamerican Development Bank IDB, to be used to finance the Community Health Program in 54 rural municipalities.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) have signed a loan agreement for B /, 50 million to implement a program to improve health equity in Panama, specifically by increasing access, use and quality of health in all provinces, including indigenous regions and their surrounding rural areas.

An IDB press release reads:

Panama will renew its system of primary health care and improve services in maternity, neonatal care and chronic diseases with a loan of up to $50 million from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

$60 Million for Salvadoran Health Services

The funds will finance infrastructure and equipment to expand and improve the country's network of primary health care centers.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has approved a $60 million loan to fund a network of integrated public health services in El Salvador.
