Honduras: $ 16 Million in Infrastructure

The capital's municipality announced a road infrastructure program for this year.

The announcement was made by the mayor of the Central District of Tegucigalpa, Ricardo Alvarez.

The program began with works at the entrance of Tiloarque which will benefit the colonies Altos de Tiloarque, Lomas de Tiloarque, Nueva Esperanza, El Contador, El Progreso and a sector of La Venezuela.

The mayor stated to Proceso Digital: "Our goal for the month of January is for every two days to display a series of inaugurations and works being carried out, such is the case of two major streets at the Kennedy colony which have completed rehabilitation, the expansion to four lanes of the south exit and the paving of the high section of the road between El Chile and Cerro Grande.”

Roadworks Awarded in Honduras

Construction of of the El Prado - Humaya overpass in Tegucigalpa, estimated at $7 million, has been awarded to the construction company Ingenieros Calona of Honduras.

Authorities of the Municipality of the Central District estimate that the $7 million work will be completed within 12-15 months.

Road Expansion Will Decongest Traffic

January 2013

An extension of 7 kilometers from the Masaya highway that will be managed by the Nicaragua Ministry of Transportation will decongest vehicular traffic, but will bring in temporary complications for businesses established along the highway.

On Sunday January 20, works started with the removal of two pedestrian bridges and some signs, located at kilometer 7 of the highway to Masaya.

El Salvador: $56 million Investment in Road Maintenance

The Road Maintenance Fund Authority has announced the start of road projects for 2012, which include routine maintenance works, and construction of roads and bridges.

The Road Maintenance Fund Authority (FOVIAL) today announced the start of road projects for 2012, which include routine maintenance works, and construction of roads and bridges, which will bring great benefits to the population and will generate thousands of jobs.

Honduras: $25.5 million for Roadworks

The Central District Municipality in the capital is investing in projects to repave roads and construct new overpasses.

The announcement was made by Mayor Ricardo Alvarez who referred to the works which include renovation work on the streets of the historic center of Tegucigalpa, construction of an overpass at Hacienda-Suyapa, and expanding the Fuerzas Armadas boulevard to three lanes .
