Honduras Launches Tender for Parking System

The municipality of San Pedro Sula announced the tender of a regulated parking system.

Mayor Juan Carlos Zuniga stated that the new system seeks to restore order in city roads.

Within the reorganization plan the mayor also referred to necessary infrastructure, stating that some of the projects will get done this year and some others before 2013, considering the high amount of resources needed.

Tender for Parking in Panama City

The municipality has announced that in the near term they will launch a bidding process for the construction and management of parking in public areas.

The mayor Roxana Mendez said that eleven different alternatives for the construction of parking lots are being analyzed.

In July, a tender will be created for the award of construction works and management of underground parking lots underneath various squares in the capital.

The municipality has already identified eleven places where parking lots could be built, including Urraca (Bella Vista), Andrés Bello (Vía Argentina), Plaza Bolívar (San Felipe), Parque Harry Strunz (Calle 50) and Parque Porras (Bella Vista).

$45 million for Salvadoran Transport System

Panama: $40 million for Traffic Management

The contract was awarded to the Spanish construction company FCC, as an extension of the work carried out on the Brazil highway.

The Ministry of Public Works in Panama awarded a $40 million subcontract to the company of Spanish origin, Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas S.A. (FCC), for the implementation of a "traffic management plan for the city's road realignment."
