Honduras: February Inflation is 1.1%

The greatest impact was felt in education, with an increase of 7.6%.

Education costs increased because educational centers increased their monthly fees.

The second item affecting most consumer prices was "Hotels, Coffee Shops and Restaurants", where prices increased 1.7%, mostly due to the increase in the raw materials used by these goods.

Nicaragua’s Inter-annual Inflation 8.81%

The inter-annual inflation rate is 1.59% higher than February 2011.

The Central Bank of Nicaragua announced that the accumulated inflation rate in the first two months of the year amounted to 1.36% and inter-annual inflation stood at 8.81%, 1.59 percentage points higher than in February 2011.

Honduras: Annual Inflation Reaches 5.8%

In February the consumer price index in Honduras grew by 1.1%.

In February 2013, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed a monthly rise of 1.1% and 5.8% yoy, while the 12-month average inflation stood at 5.2%.

The items that most influenced the monthly CPI behavior were: "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" with a contribution of 0.43%, "Education" with 0.18%, "Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels" and "Transportation" with 0.15%, with these four items representing a contribution of 82.7% in the month's inflation.

Nicaragua: 5.25% Year Over Year Inflation to February

March 2014

The national cumulative inflation in February 2014 stood at 1.39%, while in the same month of 2013 it was 1.80%.

Monthly inflation was 0.66% and was determined by the behavior of the education, housing and water sectors among others.

Honduras: 5.7% Annual Inflation to February

March 2014

Educational services, food, soft drinks and transport were responsible for part of the increase in prices in February.

Monthly inflation was 0.82%, lower than the observed figure in February 2013, when prices rose by 1.07%.
