The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will lend $400 million and the remaining $50 million will be contributed by the Chinese Cofinancing Fund (FCC) .

The Legislative approved a loan from the Andean Development Corporation (CAF) to build a road that will link the Caribbean with the country’s north.

The money will be administered by the Costa Rican Public Works Ministry, and will be used to develop the highway project, known as “Bajos de Chilamate – Vuelta Kooper”.

World Bank approves funds for construction of highway in Honduras

The main highway is an old dream in Honduras for a paved road from the San Lorenzo Valley to Olanchito in Yoro.

According to a bulletin from the House of Government, the financing was requested three months ago but was not confirmed until yesterday after a meeting of the President of Honduras and the President of the World Bank (Robert Zoellick), both of whom were in Ghana for a forum on the efficiency of international cooperation in development.
