Hewlett-Packard in Alliance with CSI Leasing of Central America

The companies combine to offer a program of rentals and financing for Information Technology in Central America.

Hewlett-Packard and CSI Leasing of Central America’s program will offer to the private sectors of Central America and the Dominican Republic, excluding Nicaragua, access to leading edge technology. According to the website Revistaitnow.com, “The program also includes support with obsolete assets that are no longer being used, with a series of services that range from responsible disposal of confidential information remaining on equipment with expired life cycles to the possible buyback of them with the goal of substituting them with the latest on the market.”

Companies with three or more years of operation and that fulfill the requirements and financial parameters set by CSI Leasing of Central America will be able to participate in the program.

Cesar Trujillo, General Manager of HP for Central America, said they hope to increase the penetration of their products by 10 to 15% in the markets where the alliance is operating.

The companies announced that they will attack together some segments of the Central American market.

According to Ericsson's Phone Account manager, Mats Malmstrom, the company "expects an expansion of its Central and Latin American portfolio in 2009, in association with corporations such as Movistar, and offering solutions to users of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) ".

Costa Rica: Software Development for the US

The Costa Rican Isthmus company signed an alliance with Plug and Play Tech Center, a North American company from Silicon Valley.

The alliance with Plug and Play Tech Center, an incubator of technology companies in United States, will allow Isthums to offer its software development services to the three Plug and Play Tech Center technological complexes in Silicon Valley, where 220 technology businesses operate.
