Guatemala's manufacturing exports grow

Foreign sales of manufactured products during the first four months of this year grew by 22 percent compared with the same period last year.

Max Staebler, president of the Manufacturing Commission, said that in the first four months of 2008 the main products exported were plastics, shoes, refrigerators, and handicrafts.
Total export sales from manufacturing were 875 million dollars, up by 150 million dollars from 2007.

Nicaragua reports higher exports

July 2008

Exports from Nicaragua have increased by 30.5 percent during the first half of 2008, compared with the same period a year earlier.

The January-June exports totalled 835.3 million dollars, up from 640.6 million dollars in the first half of 2007, according to a report issued by the Center for Processing Exports (CETREX) in its preliminary monthly report.

Guatemala: Manufacturing Exports up 14%

In the first quarter exports of manufacturing goods abroad totaled $1.076 billion, 14% more than in the same period in 2014.

Exports of food and beverages grew by 12.7%, while the category of "miscellaneous products" increased its foreign sales by 18%, according to figures from the Guatemalan Association of Exporters (AGEXPORT).

Guatemala: Sales on the Isthmus grow by 24.9%

During the first 10 months of 2008, Guatemalan traders increased sales to countries to countries in the region.

Despite the problems created by the global economic crisis, Guatemalan businessmen have not let business opportunities go by.

Exports to other countries in Central America grew by 24.9% during the first 10 months of the year, compared to the same period in 2007, when they reached only 19.3%.

Costa Rica's January-May exports up by 7.8 percent

June 2008

Costa Rica increased its exports by 7.8 percent between January and May of this year, with almost all productive sectors showing improvement.

Only bananas and melons failed to show an increase, the Ministry of Foreign Trade reported in a news release.
Total exports for the period were 4.175 billion dollars, an increase of about 300 million dollars from the same period in 2007.
