Guatemalan Exports Up 23%

Between January and July exports rose by 23.3% over the same period in 2009.

The data was released the vice president of the Guatemalan Association of Exporters (Agexport), Francisco Menendez.

Menéndez told La Nacion, "Exports (January) to July of this year are $ 5,051 million or $ 739 million more than in the (same period) of 2009”.

Guatemalan Exports Up 18% in Q1

The country exported $2.17 billion between January and March, 17.9% more than in the first quarter of 2009.

Such recovery was driven by important increases in traditional goods such as sugar and coffee. Sugar exports grew from $109.4 million to $265.3 million, while coffee increased from $173 million to $222.7 million.

Salvadoran Exports Increase by 24%

El Salvador exported a total of $3245.7 million worth of products between January and July 2011, which is a growth rate of 23.7% compared to the same period last year.

Guatemalan Exports Increase by 25%

August 2011

In the first six months of the year, exports totaled $5,400 million.

The amounts sold abroad exceeded 25% of the $4,300 million from the same period in 2010, according to the Bank of Guatemala.

"Foreign exchange earnings from the sale of traditional products increased by 25.9 percent from $1.4 billion in the first half of 2010 to $1.7 billion during the same period this year.

Guatemala: Exports Grow by 17% in January

March 2013

Exports totaled $870.3 million in January 2013, increasing by 17% compared to the $744.2 million exported in the same period in 2012.

Sales of clothing were consolidated as the main export in Guatemala, generating revenues of $102.8 million, followed by sugar with $85 million, which is not more than the $96.8 million that came in January 2012.
