Guatemala: Trade Promotion Shows

Agexport, Guatemala's export promotion agency, will hold several trade shows, expos and congresses in August and September.

Expomueble XXII will be held from August 4th to 9th, and it will be followed by the Recycling Expo Conference, the 10th and 11th of the same month.
A month later, from September 9 to 10, they will host the III National Congress for the Development and Application of Plastics in Agriculture, and later the same month, from the 10 to the 12, a software and services fair, known as Services Summit, will take place. The last event of the month will be the crafts fair "New World Crafts", to be held the 29th and 30th.

"One of the tools used by the different sectors to reactivate in times of crisis are fairs," said Fanny Estrada, Competitiveness Director at Agexport. "The idea of this activities is to gather buyers and sellers from around the world, and attract investment."

Sectors such as handicrafts expect to do business at a two-day event, called New World Craft.

Besides this event, the Guatemalan Association of Exporters (Agexport) is organizing for its members to take part in the Service Summit convention, where sectors such as call centers, digital content development, sustainable tourism and health, among others, estimate business of $25 million will be done.

Guatemala Unveils 2011 Commercial Agenda

The Guatemalan Exporters Association presented its 2011 agenda, which includes 36 trade promotion events.

The first will be the agricultural show “Agritrade” on March 17th and 18th, followed by its textile equivalent, the Apparel Sourcing Show, on March 22nd to 24th.

Expomueble Centroamérica will take place on September 21, together with arts and crafts expo “New World Crafts”.

The trade show will take place on September 8 and 9 in Casa Santo Domingo, Antigua Guatemala.

NEW WORLD CRAFTS is an event covering the crafts, gifts and decoration industry of Guatemala and Central America.

“Lucrecia de Gonzalez, president of the organizing committee, explained they have already sold 80% of the fair’s stands, and expect over 90 buyers from around the globe”, reported Sigloxxi.com.

AGEXPORT Unveils Trade Show Calendar

The Association of Guatemalan Exporters (AGEXPORT) plans to participate in 17 international events and to stage 5 fairs in the country.

In Guatemala, the association will organize the following fairs: Apparel Sourcing Show, Manufexport, New World Crafts and Expomueble.

“In 2011, they will organize Agritrade, which is staged every two years. This event is intended for agricultural products”, reported Sigloxxi.com.
