Guatemala Launches Tender for Hydroelectric Turbines

The National Electrification Institute invited bids for the supply of two groups of turbines for the El Salto hydroelectric plant.

The contract includes supply, installation, testing and commissioning of two sets of turbines - generators and auxiliary electromechanical equipment for the El Salto hydroelectric plant.

The hydroelectric plant is located within the San Luis Buenavista property, jurisdiction of Palin, kilometer 50 of the old road to Escuintla.

The expected date for receipt of tenders is May 12, 2011.

The National Electrification Institute has published two public tenders for maintenance at the hydroelectric power plants Chixoy and Aguacapa.

For the Chixoy hydroelectric plant works include the provision of pumps suitable for pumping sewage, chemical cleaning of the cooling coil oil, and water pump for cooling from the river Quixalito.

New Tender for Metro Electromechanical Equipment

The Metro de Panamá is again putting out a tender, worth $40 million, for electromechanical equipment for the stations on Line 1.

The tender is for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance services for a period of two years of escalators and lifts required in the stations on line 1 of the Panamanian Metro.
