The XIV Food Festival will be held jointly. Among the three events, the organizers hope to produce business for $18 million (Q150 million).
According what Sigloxxi.com published: "The member of the organizing committee and chairman of the Business of Restaurants in Guatemala (GREGUA), Peter Meng, indicated that this activity is looking for entrepreneurs from the food and restaurants industries to become more competitive so that they can offer greater services to the region and the rest of the world."
Companies participating in the SIAL show in Paris made purchase offer deals worth more than $1 million and generated new markets in Europe and South America for products such as chia, crackers and organic cocoa.
The event was attended by a delegation of 12 member from companies in the Association of Producers and Exporters of Nicaragua (APEN), and succeeded in opening new markets for non-traditional products and increase their knowledge of the European market for future business deals.
From 10 to 12 September the food and restaurant industry meeting will be held at the Grand Tikal Futura Hotel.
This is a joint effort by several entities, including the Chamber of Industry of Guatemala,CIG, the Guatemalan Institute of Tourism, INGUAT, the Guild of Restaurants, Universidad Rafael Landivar, the Technical Institute of Training and Productivity, the Rotary Club of Guatemala, and the company responsible for marketing and logistics, Corpoeventos, who have joined their efforts to organize reportedly the most important food and beverage fair in Central America, to be held from 10 to 12 September 2012 at the Exhibition Centre of Grand Tikal Futura Hotel Guatemala City.
Sales of $50 million are expected and the event will include the participation of companies from Latin America and the Caribbean, including Panama and Costa Rica.
The 2012 edition of the ‘Expo-Alimentos ‘ (Food Expo), the premier food event in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, will generate sales of about $50 million, said Horacio Figueroa, president of the company organizing the show to EFE.
