Though hardly a magnificent year, there was not the negative trend of last year and importers showed confidence. It is also worth highlighting that Guatemala has a lot of more experience in cosmetic products than the rest of the Central American region, Grupo Oclan's corporate director, Salvador Flores, commented to Sigloxxi.com.
El Salvador is the largest purchaser of Guatemalan perfumes.
The vegetarian trend has become more radical in the UK, where there is a demand for cosmetics produced free of any animal inputs.

In the UK, hand in hand with the lifestyle trend of vegetarianism and veganism, there has been a growth in the demand for cosmetics which do not contain animal inputs, with some products satisfying this criteria already existing already in the market.
During the first half of 2016 the Central American countries as a whole imported $329 million worth of beauty and personal hygiene products.
