Guatemala Exports Bamboo to U.S.

Exports have been to Miami, through an agreement signed by the Bamboo Association (AsoBambú).
Demand for bamboo in Asian countries and is growing and the Taiwanese Embassy in Guatemala is organizing a seminar in order to promote its cultivation.
Government, industry and producers of bamboo are driving renewed interest in the sector.
One million hectares could be devoted to the cultivation of bamboo, a measure being analyzed by specialists from Taiwan, with a view to installing plants for industrialization.
CO2Bambú made its first shipment of prefabricated kits of bamboo for construction for transitional shelters.
