Guatemala: Exploration of Geothermal Concessions

Radius Gold company reached an agreement with Molten Power Corp, under which the second will explore and exploit the geothermal energy concessions of the first.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Canadian company Power Molten Corp may acquire 100% of Radius´s geothermal concessions by issuing 2 million shares.

Additionally, Radius will maintain a 2% royalty on sales of electricity of the first plant to be built in each area.

Studies by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) estimate that the volcanoes of the Los Maribios range, along the Pacific area, could give the country a generation potential of more than the 1,500 megawatts in 12 areas or geothermal fields, a capability that could liberate Nicaragua from dependence on oil as a source of electricity.

Nicaragua Awards Geothermal Exploration Contract

October 2009

Ram Power Corp. and Magma Energy Corp. were awarded 2 geothermal energy exploration concessions.

Known as "Volcán Mombacho" and "Caldera de Apoyo", the areas given under concession sum 200 square kilometers. Work in the area is expected to start in the first quarter of 2010, and last 27 months.
