From a report by the Bank of Guatemala: Request more information: January 2018 As of October 2017, the monthly index of economic activity registered an interannual increase of 4.06%, mainly explained by the performance of local wholesale trade. July 2017 Between January and May, the monthly index of economic activity varied by 6.49% with respect to the same period in 2016, mainly due to the activities of construction and exploitation of mines and quarries. July 2017 Exploitation of mines and quarries was responsible for most of the variation in the economic activity index in May of this year, registering a year-on-year increase of 2.4%. March 2016 Economic activity in Guatemala grew by 2.9% in the first month of 2016, according to figures from the Bank of Guatemala.
