Guatemala: Annual Inflation Reaches 3.64%

In October, the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.15%, putting the cumulative inflation from January to October at 2.86%.

From report by the National Statistical Institute of Guatemala:

The Consumer Price Index for October 2014 stood at 117.96, posting a monthly change of 0.15%, and compared with October last year the variation was 3.64%.

The monthly change recorded in October 2014 stood at 0.15%, which accelerated by 0.10 from the previous month (0.05%). And with respect to the amount recorded in October last year (-0.03%) it accelerated by 0.18%.

The monthly change recorded in October 2014 is the fourth highest in the months of October 2007-2013 and is 0.01 below the average of 0.16 for the aforementioned period.

Out of the twelve spending divisions that make up the Consumer Price Index (CPI), food (1.62%), transportation (0.79%), recreation (0.45%), reflect the rise in the general price level of inflation to October 2019, reported the National Statistics Institute.

Guatemala: Annual Inflation 2.23% up to October 2015

November 2015

In October, the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.50%, and accumulated inflation so far this year of 2.14%.

The monthly change (0.50%) shows acceleration compared with October 2014 (0.15%), while the accumulated (2.14%) and annual (2.23%) changes, recorded a slowdown in the level of prices compared to those observed in October 2014.

In January the consumer price index recorded a decline of 0.36%, mainly explained by transport and housing.

The Consumer Price Index for January 2015 stood at 117.64, registering a monthly variation of -0.36%, and compared to January last year the change was 2.32%.
