Guatemala: 2.44% Annual Inflation to February

The categories of Transport and Food accounted for the monthly increase of 0.31% in the consumer price index in February.

From a report by the National Statistical Institute of Guatemala (INE):

The most important results up to February 2015 are as follows: monthly rate of 0.31%, year on year rate of 2.44% and accumulated rate of -0.04%.

The monthly variation (0.31%) showed an acceleration compared to that observed in February 2014 (0.20%), the cumulative rate (-0.04%) showed a fall in the price level compared to February 2014 ( 0.45%) and the year on year rate (2.44%), recorded a de-acceleration compared with February 2014 (3.50%).

The monthly variation recorded in February 2015 stood at 0.31%, which shows an acceleration in the price level of 0.67 from the previous month (-0.36%). And in relation to the level reached in February 2014 (0.20%) it rose by 0.11.

After falling from 4.4% to 1.8% between July and September 2019, during October the price growth rate was 2.2%.

Out of the twelve spending divisions that make up the Consumer Price Index (CPI), food (1.62%), transportation (0.79%), recreation (0.45%), reflect the rise in the general price level of inflation to October 2019, reported the National Statistics Institute.

June 2019

After recording a 4.8% year-on-year variation in the CPI in April, the inflation rate dropped to 4.5% in May.

Monthly inflation (0.26%), shows a slowdown compared to May of the previous year (0.47%), while the accumulated (2.33%), and year-on-year (4.54%), show an acceleration compared to the same month last year, according to the report of the National Statistics Institute.

Guatemala: Year-on-Year Inflation to June 2017 is 4.36%

July 2017

In June, the monthly variation was 0.86%, mainly explained by the behavior of prices of food, alcoholic beverages and transportation.

Guatemala: Annual Inflation to March 2.43%

April 2015

In March, the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.17%, reducing annual inflation by just 0.01% compared to the February figure.
