Free Zone in Limón, Costa Rica, Moves Forward
Construction of the Limon Free Zone, located close to the Búfalo locality, will start in October.

Its infrastructure will be developed by Guanazul JRV S.A., explained Marcela Brooks, legal head at Costa Rica’s exports promotion authority (Procomer).
The Foreign Trade Promoter has revealed in a study the benefits that free trade zones contribute to the country, including the 58 thousand jobs that pay 60% above the average private sector salary.
The first zones to use the TICA system (Customs Control Information Technology) will be those using the Santamaría customs office.
A private report has analyzed the contribution of the scheme to economic activity.
The local municipality seeks to attract more international companies, by offering new tax benefits included in the recently modified Free Zone Law.
