Flights from Asia to Panama

All Nippon Airways and Cathay Pacific Airways have expressed interest in establishing a direct flight to Panama.

Cathay Pacific Airways has invited the Panamanian authorities to initiate a dialogue to establish a direct flight between Panama and Tokyo.

"According to a feasibility study conducted by All Nippon Airways (ANA), a regular service between Japan and Panama shows potential for four flights a week and between 20% and 30% of passengers would have Panama as the final destination", published Prensa.com

From January to May this year tourist arrivals from Asia increased by 17% compared to the same period in 2010.

On March 1st, the carrier will start operating a daily frequency between the cities of Tegucigalpa and Panama.

The route will be served through Embraer 190 aircraft, capable of seating 10 passengers in business class and 84 in economy.

Non-Stop Flights Linking Tocumen with Bocas del Toro

The Panamanian Tourism Authority (ATP) is negotiating direct flights to Bocas del Toro and David with airlines operating at Tocumen airport.

“The idea is to enable charter flights (which operate without pre-established schedules) from any city or country to land at Tocument International Airport and immediately board another plane to the airports of David and Bocas del Toro”, explained ATP advisor Ernesto Orillac.
