For this event CIFCA administration received authorization, by the National Legislature, to sell tax free the products exhibited at the fair.
With participation of 23 countries and 250 exhibitors about 100 thousand visitors are expected.
"... One of the highlights of the event will be the business round table meetings, which seeks to encourage contacts between businessmen and exhibitors as a benefit to private enterprise." Elsalvador.con informed in their article.
The International Fair in El Salvador failed in terms of organization and attracting visitors, but was successful as a venue for business meetings.
Besides the organizers recognizing the failure of the event in the traditional sense of quantity of visitors and the quality of its organization, and its success as an occasion for fruitful business negotiations, the International Fair in El Salvador seems to be exemplifying the effects of new forms of communication, especially the internet, in this type of traditional event.
The event hosts 120 presenters and will continue until 22 July in Antigua, Guatemala.
Companies are participating from Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Germany, Holand, Sweden and Spain.
"A Euro Expo press release explains that the event will bring together products and services from Central American and European businesses in sectors including logistics, banking, law, food, automobiles, construction materials and cosmetics," reports Prensalibre.com.
The event received around 10,500 visitors and in the business meetings 1,350 contacts were made.
From a statement issued by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Panama:
The Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture in Panama (CCIAP) closed the thirty-third version of Expocomer with complete success, having made significant contributions to the economy of Panama and exhibitor countries who took part in business meetings over four days at this important international trade show.
