El Salvador coffee exports rise by 55 percent in April
El Salvador's coffee exports were up by 55 percent year-on-year at 214,696 60 kg sacks, the Salvadoran Coffee Council reported.

So far during the current crop cycle, which began in October, El Salvador has exported 789,634 sacks, a 19.4 percent increase on the same period of the previous cycle, the council said.
The January-March 2013 Newsletter by SIECA on Central American Foreign Trade is the first to include data from Panama.
Exports are dominated by coffee, underwear and sugar, while the country mainly imports hydrocarbons.
Markets for Nicaraguan beef have increased rapidly in recent years, expanding beyond traditional buyers like the United States and Central America to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Taiwan and Venezuela. About 500 tons a month are being exported to these destinations from four local meat processors.
Nicaragua's coffee exports increased in 29.6 percent in February to 177,867 sacks (60 kilos), the state export agency, Cetrex, reported Thursday.
