Export of bananas, pineapples, and coffee grow in Costa Rica
These items topped foreign sales for the agriculture sector, and have increased during the first 10 months of 2008 by at least 12.04% in general.

Data from the Foreign Trade Promoter (Procomer) indicate that between January and October of this year, Costa Rican agricultural exports reach $1.8 billion, or 12.04% more than the $1.6 billion recorded for the same period in 2007.
There only remains a technical visit to be made by Chinese authorities in order to complete the evaluation process and start exporting pineapples to China.
The Costa Rican pineapple sector wants to consolidate the presence it has gained in major international markets.
Colombian MD2 pineapple producers are negotiating with South Korea, Israel and the European Union in order to start exporting the product in 2015.
Malaysian producers plan to start exporting fresh pineapple to China later this year as part of an agreement signed between the two countries in 2013.
