El Salvador seeks Iberia flights

Ruben Rochi, Tourism Minister, will meet with the president of Iberia, Fernando Coto, to discuss the Madrid-El Salvador flight again.

Elsalvador.com reports: "We will insist that the issue of the Madrid flight was a project that we had secured in April of last year and that we were going to begin with three weekly flights, but when oil prices shot up, they said that they were going to have to suspend all route expansions and they put us on pause," said Rochi."

Iberia Announces New Flights to Central America

Starting October 1st, the Spanish airline will operate a flight between San Salvador – Madrid and will inaugurate non-stop flights between Spain and Panama.

The Salvadoran flight will make a small stop in Guatemala, while the return flight will be non-stop between El Salvador and Madrid.

Iberia Direct Flight to Panama

With a 96% occupancy rate, the airline launched today, October 1st, its direct flight to Panama.

With the non-stop flight Madrid to Panama City, the company reduces flight duration by more than 4 hours and increased offer to Panama in about 55%.

These new direct flights from Iberia to Panama are a sign of their commitment to Central America, adding tomorrow, October 2nd, another destination: San Salvador, with four weekly flights. Also, Iberia has a daily flight to San José de Costa Rica and four flights a week to Guatemala.

New Direct Flight Between Guatemala and Orlando

Between July 17th and August 28th, Taca will operate a direct route between Guatemala and Orlando, three times a week.

The flight is intended to attend the seasonal demand for this destination during the summer, and will be launched again for the high season at the end of the year.

New Direct Flight Between El Salvador and Guayaquil

Taca Airlines will open a new direct flight between El Salvador and Guayaquil, Ecuador, three times a week.

The company is conducting the required paperwork to get the official approvals from the air transport authorities of El Salvador and Ecuador.

Estuardo Ortiz, COO of Avianca-TACA, commented that “this new route makes it easier to travel between the three Americas, connecting cities in Canada with Central America and with northern South America. We are trying to serve our passengers in the best possible way”.
