El Salvador Hosts Clean Production Fair

The fair intends to showcase the country's achievements in clean production.

It is organized by the National Center for Clean Production in El Salvador (CNPML), and will host conferences on sustainable consumption and energy efficiency, among others.

From Laprensagrafica.com: "Yolanda Salazar de Tobar, CNPML's executive director, highlighted some national companies for their work in clean production: Encurtidos Lupita (thermal energy savings), La Constancia (water usage optimization) and Lácteos San José (raw materials savings)".

Panama: Industrialist Certified as "Green"

The Union of Industrialists of Panama has launched the "Green Panama" certification for companies which implement good environmental practices.

The "Green Panama" seal of approval, will be awarded to companies who demonstrate consistency in the implementation of best practices in areas such as energy efficiency, waste management and water resource management.

Regional Award for Cleanest Production

Salvadoran authorities are organizing a contest to evaluate which companies have the cleanest production processes.

In order to participate, companies must apply at the website of the Salvadoran Environment Ministry (www.marn.gob.sv).

The objective of the initiative is to promote Cleaner Production in companies, as a tool to improve an organization’s environmental performance, focusing on efficient use of water, reduced generation of solid waste, productivity and corporate attitude change.
