El Salvador opens conference on financial transparency

The Latin American Conference on Accountability and Audits will focus on the strengthening of the frameworks of national accounting systems as its main theme.

Officials from the World Bank and the Interamerican Development Bank will inaugurate the conference on Wednesday in San Salvador.
It is the second regional conference, at which delegates will share experiences on methods of making public and private finances more transparent.

Costa Rica to Host Microfinance Conference

The subject of the fifth Central American Microfinance Conference is "The Financial Crisis: Lessons Learned and New Strategies".

The conference will be held in Hotel Ramada Herradura, San José, Costa Rica from 25 to 27 August and is organized by the Central American Microfinance Network (Redcamif).

El Salvador to hold Latin American accountancy summit

May 2008

The second CReCER conference on accountancy for growth in Latin America and the Caribbean is to be held in San Salvador from June 11 to 13.

One of the main topics of debate will be the application of international accounting norms.
The conference is being sponsored by the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank and the International Federation of Accountants.
