El Salvador and Mexico celebrate agreements in Tourism

The Mexican Government offered their cooperation in areas such as the Organización Mundo Maya, regarding statistics, training, and technical assistance.

In addition to the subscription of an aerial agreement for the Mundo Maya region, emerged the initiative and agreement to establish dialogue mechanisms between countries receiving cruise ships.
On the topic of statistics, Mexico offered its cooperation with technical assistance for the establishment of the Cuenta Satélite de Turismo, as well as the implementation of the Data Tur system to measure lay period and demand behavior in hotel establishments.
In the area of training and technical assistance, the Calidad Moderniza- Distintivo "M" program was implemented. This program was designed by SECTUR to provide access to the training and consulting services necessary to promote efficiency and modernization.

Comisión Ejecutiva Hidroeléctrica del Río Lempa (CEL) of El Salvador, which has an installed capacity of 472 megawatts, and the Instituto Nacional de Electrificación (INDE) of Guatemala were responsible for signing this agreement which will facilitate energy trade.

FTA Mexico - Costa Rica is Enlarged

The countries signed an Strategic Association Agreement to expand the current FTA and create dialogue and cooperation mechanisms.

Mexican president Felipe Calderón "assured in a press conference that this agreement will not only increase bilateral commerce, but also 'enable closer dialogue in topics of mutual interest and deepen the economic relationship and the educational, technical and touristic links'", reported Prensalibre.cr

Costa Rica in Strategic Partnership with Mexico

The agreement is looking to expand the FTA between the two countries, widening the relationship in the political and cooperation fields.

Billateral commerce rose 1400% since the signing in 1994 of the FTA between both countries. Now, the intention is to strengthen the relationshipt with strategic agreements in environment and coordinated action in multilateral bodies such as the United Nations Security Council.
