The Italian airline once again postponed its weekly Milan-El Salvador flight until February of next year.
"During my trip to Europe, I contacted them and they confirmed that they will commence the flights on February 5. This was communicated verbally and not in writing," said the head of Mitur, Ruben Rochi, who had announced the arrival of the airline on October 31.
The first regular Milan - San Salvador (via Havana) by the Livingston airline company is scheduled for Thursday, February 19.
This is according to Giovanni de Verti, air connectivity adviser.
La Prensa Grafica reports on its web site: "Ruben Rochi, heed of MITUR, said that the flight is already being sold on the system: "If they start to sell tickets on the reservation system that is used by all the airlines of the world, this is a commitment, because then agencies start to buy."
Once the flight to El Salvador begins in February, the company plans to start operations through Central America.
In statements made to Elsalvador.com Carlos Ortiz, commercial director of Avitours and representative of the Italian airline in El Salvador said: "With this step, the airlines see El Salvador and Central America as a growing tourist destination based on forecasts and studies by the World Tourism Organization of the area.
