The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) will earmark the resources to support rural cooperatives seeking funding for innovating projects.

"... next month, a rural modernization program dubbed 'Premoder' will be announced for the central region, which will focus on San Vicente, Cabañas, La Paz, Cuscatlán and some municipalities of San Salvador. These are another $ 20 million which will be spent over a period of four years", published Laprensagrafica.com.

Nicaragua: New line of credit for rural micro businesses

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) granted a $2 million credit to Fundeser to finance small farmers and micro businessmen from both rural and urban areas.

This loan was granted to the Foundation for Socio-Economic and Rural Development and is a part of the expansion of a previous contract. Fundeser has a network of agencies in 22 municipalities.
